‘Wear my Face Mask’ Song
What does a medical writer do to have a little bit of fun? We write a face mask song to help promote public health activities that protect others from COVID-19, of course! Here is my attempt at writing lyrics to encourage younger people to wear face masks. You can sing it to the tune of Can’t Feel my Face by The Weeknd. I chose this tune because it was a popular song when twenty-something people were in their teens, so it might still be a tune that resonates with this group.
Why write a face mask song?
Multiple reports are suggesting that younger people can often be infected yet asymptomatic and hence may be spreading the virus unintentionally to others who may end up experiencing disastrous effects as a result.
Let me know what you think of this face mask song and feel free to share it with others.

Wear my Face Mask
(To the tune of Can’t Feel My Face by The Weeknd)
And she knows I could be the death of her, don’t want to give COVID to grandma
And she’ll always give her best to me, she has so much charisma
But at least we can say hello now if we keep a distance apart
This I know, yeah, this I know
She told me, wear your face mask, Sweetie
She told me, cover your mouth and nose
We both know we can’t go without face masks
She told me to protect others, oh, oh, woo
I’ll wear my face mask when I’m with you
But I love it, it keeps you safe now, oh
I’ll wear my face mask when I’m with you
But I love it, it keeps you safe now, oh
